Earle Williams, For those of a similar name, see Earl Williams (disambiguation).Earle Williams (b. February 28, 1880 in Sacramento, California - d. April 25, 1927 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California) was a silent film star.Vitagraph companys leading man in the 1910s, Earle Williams was voted Americas number one star in 1915, starting his career on stage as a teenager, the year he made perhaps his most popular film of all, The Juggernaut. Vitagraph wrecked a real train in this action melodrama, which co-starred Williams with his most frequent leading lady, Anita Stewart. They were also teamed in the studios earliest and perhaps most famous entry in the then-popular serial genre, The Goddess in 1915, and Williams made a dashing gentleman thief in Vitagraphs 1917 version of the ever popular Arsene Lupin. He continued his popularity streak into the 1920s, often portraying stalwart military heroes. Williams early death was attributed to bronchial pneumonia. He was forty-seven years old.[edit] Selected filmographyA Tale of Two Cities (1911)The Scarlet Runner (1916)The Man from Downing Street (1922)Fortunes Mask (1922)The Eternal Struggle (1923)[edit] External linksBiography portalEarle Williams at the Internet Movie DatabaseEarle Williams at Find a Graveportrait of Earle WilliamsPersondataNameWilliams, EarleAlternative namesShort descriptionDate of birth28 February 1880Place of birthSacramento, CaliforniaDate of death25 April 1927Place of deathHollywood, CaliforniaRetrieved from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earle_WilliamsCategories: 1880 births | 1927 deaths | American film actors | American silent film actorsHidden categories: Infobox person using deprecated parameters | Articles with hCardsPersonal toolsLog in / create accountNamespacesArticleDiscussionVariantsViewsReadEditView historyActionsSearchNavigationMain pageContentsFeatured contentCurrent eventsRandom articleDonate to WikipediaInteractionHelpAbout WikipediaCommunity portalRecent changesContact WikipediaToolboxWhat links hereRelated changesUpload fileSpecial pagesPermanent linkCite this pagePrint/exportCreate a bookDownload as PDFPrintable versionLanguagesEspaƱol This page was last modified on 18 December 2010 at 21:35.Text is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License;additional terms may apply.See Terms of Use for details.Wikipedia® is a registered trademark of the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization.Contact usPrivacy policyAbout WikipediaDisclaimers if ( window.isMSIE55 ) fixalpha(); if (window.runOnloadHook) runOnloadHook();
